Prior to my 2285 experience, my understanding of curriculum development was very boring and not thought out with the end in mind.
In my process (Steps 1-5, and in-class discussion/activities), I improved in my ability to revise, think about the process, and make an authentic curriculum with my students in mind.
In my process, I realized the following about myself as a learner: I was nervous at first to share my work but then I realized my peers were there to improve my work. I want to share
this with my students and help them embrace revision.
Given the process I have been through, and what I've experienced in reflecting on myself as a learner, the following objectives will guide me in my next phase as a curriculum developer:
First, I will teach according to the standards. Next, I will always plan lessons that will be in the best interest of my students. I will use the Ubd to help guide me in my curriculum development.
I will always encourage students in there work and I will assess students as individuals. Finally, student assessments will be used to assess myself and improve on my daily teaching.
